Gorillas

The gorilla is a very sociable creature and live in the Zaire River Basin. Gorillas are family oriented and show affection by social grooming. They recognize their family members and friends by their faces. Interestingly, every gorilla has a unique nose print, just like our human fingerprint. They will live with as many as 30 other apes and their young. There is always one dominant male of the group, which is the silver back. The mother and her young will show an amazing amount of love and affection along with playfulness. The gorilla has also been known to smile, purr, and even chuckle! They can make up to 25 different noises that can be heard up to a mile away. It has also been proven that gorillas are highly intelligent and can remember things for years.
