Moose Stuffed Animals

The moose can be found in many forests throughout Europe, North America and Asia. This animal has a huge body and the males have large antlers that can grow up to six feet long and up to seventy pounds all by themselves. Did you know that an adult moose can weigh almost a ton and grow up to seven feet tall? The have unique characteristics, such as an upper lip that is much larger than their bottom lip and a "beard" underneath their chin. Their name originated from their diet. The Algonquin Indians named the moose, originally "mooswa", meaning "twig-eater". During summertime, the moose will often be found swimming or walking in rivers, lakes and other wetlands. They are surprisingly excellent swimmers, and can hold their breath for up to thirty seconds at a time. The moose can swim for 10 miles straight and run fast for 35 miles.
