Plush Alligators | Alligator Plush Toy
Plush Alligator Animal Facts:
Plush alligators are a prehistoric meat-eating reptile and have many interesting qualities. Alligator plush toys normally live to be about fifty years old in the wild. Plush alligators have strong, muscular tails, and a tough body.
One can tell the difference between younger and older alligator plush toys by the color of their tail stripes. Adult stripes are dark while those on babies are a bright yellow. A female plush alligator reaches a maximum length of eight feet, whereas her standard male counterpart grows to a total of eleven. Plus, these reptiles can weigh up to one thousand pounds!
Alligators also have extra long snouts. Their nostrils are located at the end of the nose, which permits them to obtain air even if they are fully immersed in water. Alligators have such strong jaws that they could crack a turtle shell. These reptiles favor small animals which venture near the edge of their watery abode along with fish, frogs, and birds. An Alligators teeth are designed to grasp large prey which is made into more manageable pieces by using their razor sharpness. Although, if they catch small prey, they will swallow it all at once.
All plush alligators are usually introverted except during mating season. The male alligators protect their habitats within a two mile radius. Each and every plush alligator "hibernates" when the weather is cold and they dig tunnels underneath the water, these tunnels can be up to 65 feet long. An alligator plush toy are known to seek protection in a den known as a "gator hole" during temperature extremes.
In early summer female plush alligators are known to produce as many as fifty eggs. They search for materials such as mud, sticks and vegetation. Then they use to build their nests with their back feet. Baby alligator plush toys begin producing loud noises from within their shells approximately sixty five days after the mother lays the eggs. Once the mother hears this she uncovers her eggs with the material used for nesting, then she’ll watch her eggs begin to hatch. Baby plush alligators are about eight inches long when they are born. Babies remain with their mothers until they grow to four feet long. An alligator plush toy remain with their mother for four years because they only grow about a foot per year.
