In 1955, teddy bears were used by surgeons in the operating room to assist in putting children to sleep prior to surgery. Teddy bears heal the hearts and minds of children and adults alike when they're down or feeling ill. Christopher Robin received a teddy bear for his first birthday – the bear we now know as Winnie the Pooh. Teddy bears come in all sizes – small, medium, and large.
